DESTINATIONS
Grady Nichols is getting ready to release his sixth CD, Destinations! He teamed up with Chris Rodriguez, (whose performance credits include Kenny Loggins, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Amy Grant and many others), to co-write and produce the CD. They chose famed RCA Studio A to record and Grady worked with his band to craft a project that works in the studio and on stage. Old friends such as Bill Champlin and Jeff Lorber make appearances as well as Chris Rodriguez, Krista Branch and Teel Merrick. Chris' mastery behind the boards has resulted in a project that blends sax, strings and even a little banjo and steel guitar. The result is a cutting edge contemporary jazz / pop/adult contemporary venture to new destinations!

HOUSE SAX
Grady worked with famed remix/dance/house producer/DJ Andy Caldwell on his last to create a dance version of the title cut, Take Me With You. During the process, Andy came up with a lot of versions and it was difficult to choose one to put on the CD. Grady hated leaving so many fun cuts behind, so he has released them in download version only through CD Baby. You can check it out here
TAKE ME WITH YOU
Contemporary jazz saxophonist Grady Nichols released his fifth CD, Take Me With You. Produced by Zac Maloy (founder and front man of the MCA Records' modern rock band, The Nixons), the CD features 13 songs including 4 vocal tunes. Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer added her vocals on a cover of "Every Kinda People." Nichols also covered "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," a song made famous by Kylie Minogue. For a fun twist, Grady recruited DJ/Producer/Re-mix engineer Andy Caldwell to create a dance version of the title track.
Maloy and Nichols co-wrote five tunes and Nichols also teamed up with Grammy-nominated jazz artist Jeff Lorber to write three additional tunes. Lorber produced Nichols' last CD, Sophistication, which received national radio airplay and many accolades. Maloy is also known for producing acts such as The Vanished, multi-platinum act Bowling For Soup (Jive Records) and Jonas Brothers (Hollywood Records). His songs have been recorded by Bowling For Soup, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood and others. The result of all of these collaborations is an edgy contemporary jazz CD with a lot of depth.
